The report brings together findings from research involving 750 young people from five countries and provides recommendations for improving youth employment policies and support programmes.
Within the Empowering Youth for Equal Success (EYES) project, a Comparative Analysis has been developed to present the main findings, challenges, and recommendations related to youth employment in five European countries.
The report is based on the voices and experiences of 750 young people from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Serbia. It provides a deeper look into the realities young people face when entering the labour market, as well as the factors that influence their access to equal opportunities for professional development.
The Comparative Analysis brings together the findings from the national reports developed in the partner countries and outlines common trends, specific challenges, and possible solutions. The document also includes recommendations for improving youth employment policies and support programmes at both national and European levels.
A special focus is placed on young people with fewer opportunities, including NEET youth, young women and girls, young people from minority groups, rural areas, and other vulnerable communities.

About the EYES Project
The Empowering Youth for Equal Success (EYES) project is implemented by Youth European Society (YES) from Bulgaria in partnership with Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) from Serbia, Beyond Borders from Italy, COSI from Romania, and GO Alive from Greece.
The main aim of the project is to promote equal employment opportunities for young people by raising awareness, strengthening the capacities of youth workers, and developing evidence-based recommendations grounded in the realities of local communities.
The project works to:
- enhance the employability of young people, especially NEET youth and young people from vulnerable groups;
- strengthen the capacities of partner organisations and youth workers;
- foster cross-sectoral cooperation and advocacy for improved youth employment policies;
- establish local innovation hubs in the five partner communities as part of the project’s sustainability strategy.
The project activities are implemented in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Serbia during the period 01.09.2025 – 31.08.2027.
