Youth European Society (YES) is a non-governmental organisation based in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, established in 2015.
The organisation was founded to achieve the following objectives:
- To represent and protect the interests of young people;
- To promote dialogue among young people in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Member States and the candidate countries of the European Union, drawing their attention to the idea of a united Europe and contributing to the development of a shared European identity;
- To play an active role in educating and informing young people and motivating them to contribute to the development of civil society and participate in decision-making processes;
- To promote youth mobility within and beyond the borders of the Republic of Bulgaria, non-formal education and intercultural dialogue;
- To encourage the employment and inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational level or social and cultural background;
- To attract motivated young people as new members and involve them in achieving the organisation’s objectives;
- To promote solidarity, tolerance and gender equality among young people, as well as understanding and tolerance between generations;
- To support the exchange of ideas and experience, mutual understanding and equal opportunities for young people;
- To promote healthy lifestyles and increase public interest in sport and physical activity;
- To create conditions for the social inclusion of young people and encourage active citizenship.
Our priorities are:
- Promoting youth mobility, non-formal education and multicultural dialogue;
- Supporting the inclusion of all young people in employment, regardless of their educational level or social and cultural background;
- Encouraging the exchange of ideas and experience, mutual understanding and equal opportunities for young people;
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and increasing public interest in sport;
- Strengthening solidarity, tolerance and gender equality, while encouraging understanding between generations;
- Promoting dialogue among young people in Bulgaria, the EU Member States and candidate countries, raising awareness of the idea of a united Europe and contributing to the development of a European identity.
We work on projects at local, national and international level and cooperate with partner organisations from across Europe.
